GdS: Milan to reward three young stars with pay rises after Scudetto win

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to reward Sandro Tonali for his exceptional season by giving him a pay rise, while two defenders are also in line for the same.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) notes how Tonali is under contract until 30 June 2026 but everything suggests that his deal will be extended after a wonderful 2021-22 season in which he was the leader of the midfield as Milan captured the Scudetto for the first time in 11 years.

Tonali reduced his salary after his initial season-long loan from Brescia in order to facilitate his permanent move to his boyhood club, dropping from €2.2m net per season to €1.3m. However, after becoming a starter and exploding in form, an extension and a pay rise is expected as a reward more than anything.

Meanwhile, both Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu are under contract until June 2025 and in this summer mercato they should extend their respective agreements.

Kalulu in particular should get a pay rise as he currently gets €500k per year net salary, while Tomori receives €2m net but is happy to be at the club wants to stay for a long time.
