GdS: Milan very close to striking deal with Chelsea over deferred payments for €28m man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are very close to being able to announce the permanent signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) confirms that the Rossoneri want to buy Tomori as soon as possible and then they can focus on other market negotiations. Talks with Chelsea are in an advanced state as per the paper.

The option to buy Tomori for €28m has to be paid by the end of the month, but the management are trying to get a more advantageous deal, even if Chelsea will not give a discount. The amount agreed will have to be entirely deposited because otherwise the Blues will have no problem bringing Tomori back and reselling him at even more expensive figures.

Nonetheless, there is a very close agreement for a deferred payment by Milan. The Rossoneri asked the Blues to be able to pay the entire amount in instalments, so as not to weigh the investment solely on the 2021 budget, and an agreement is expected.
