AC Milan are still interested in signing Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina as the defender’s contract uncertainty continues, a report claims.
The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with a move for Milenkovic since the summer transfer window when the club were desperate to bolster the rearguard with a profile like his, one that Stefano Pioli knows well from his time with La Viola.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milenkovic will not renew his contract with Fiorentina and will leave the Tuscan club in June.
The Florence club have been left with no choice given that his current deal expires in 2022, as the end of the season marks only one year from the possibility of him leaving for free.
In order not to risk losing him for nothing, Fiorentina will sell him and Milan – who for months have shown interest in the defender – remain vigilant. On Milenkovic however, there are also various Premier League clubs.
