AC Milan will not use their option to buy Alexis Saelemaekers from Anderlecht this summer, according to a report.
In his only three appearances from the bench, the Anderlecht-owned winger has not made a huge impact, and we revealed via our correspondent Vito Angele that Milan feel he ‘does not seem to have the characteristics to explode in Serie A’.
As a result, his adventure at Milan may already be over after only a few months, as the Rossoneri do not seem likely to exercise their option to buy at the end of his loan which officially expires in June.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Saelemaekers will return to Anderlecht in the summer having played just 33 minutes so far since arriving at the San Siro.
This means Milan are likely to return to the market for a right-sided player who can provide depth and give Samu Castillejo a rest.
