GdS: Milan’s market begins moving with Maldini – the names circled on his wish list

By Oliver Fisher -

Now that the takeover has been resolved, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara can get to work on the transfer market in the hopes of strengthening the squad.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there will be meetings between RedBird and Maldini during which they will talk about market strategies and calibrate the budget for the transfer wndow ahead.

There are at least three names circled in red on their wish list: Gleison Bremer of Torino for the defence, Renato Sanches of Lille for the midfield and Nicolò Zaniolo of Roma for the attack.

Maldini and Massara tried to manufacture a lower cost operation for Zaniolo by offered €25m plus Alexis Saelemaekers to Roma but that is a proposal that for the moment has not unlocked the deal.

There are other names worth monitoring such as Charles De Ketelaere and Noa Lang of Club Brugge. The former will be difficult to sign while the latter could arrive for €20-22m, a figure in line with Elliott’s investments and possibly with RedBird too.

  1. Not enthusiastic about Zaniolo, but the others excite me all. I think Zaniolo is way to overpriced at the moment, just looking his numbers from this season and then the pricetag Roma puts on him.
    In Maldini I trust

  2. Reasons why Zaniolo is not one good option for us:
    1-Injury Prone
2-Not in Team of the Year of Serie A
3-Not the best player of Roma
4-Dont have better numbers then the wingers we have on that side
5-Worst the CDK and Noa Lang

  3. Now it’s not Botman anymore it Bremer from Torino. I’m just waiting to see the player stand up next to Maldini with the jersey in his hands ✋️. Media can put whatever they want on paper
