GdS: Milan’s probable XI against SPAL – Biglia, Leao and Suso all dropped

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is not expected to make as many changes as initially though for Thursday’s game against SPAL, a report claims.

The Rossoneri host Serie A’s second-bottom side hoping to capture their fourth win of the season and begin an ascent up the season after a poor start.

Following Sunday’s disappointing defeat at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma, some outlets were suggesting Pioli could make as many as six changes to his starting XI, including a brand new midfield trio.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via @MilanEye) are reporting that there will in fact be four changes made to the line-up that started against the Giallorossi.

Leo Duarte will come in at right-back due to doubts over the form of both Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti, while Ismael Bennacer will take Lucas Biglia’s position as the regista.

Rafael Leao will be benched in favour of Krzysztof Piatek, and finally Suso will be rested in favour of Samu Castillejo, who has not started a game since Round 2 against Brescia.
