A number of AC Milan stars had nights to forget in Sunday’s defeat to Fiorentina, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s player ratings.
The Rossoneri’s crisis deepened on Sunday night as Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina won 3-1 at San Siro to condemn Milan to a fourth defeat in six to begin the season.
As a result, Milan have lost four out of their first six league games to start a season for the first time since 1938, something which has only happened twice in the club’s history.
Pressure is mounting on Marco Giampaolo, and TMW linked Andriy Shevchenko with the job after the game, while Vito Angele confirmed to us that Giampaolo’s position is under threat, with three possible temporary solutions being considered.
La Gazzetta pulled no punches in their ratings, giving Giampaolo a 4/10, and also giving Ismael Bennacer a 4 after he gave away two penalties.
Gianluigi Donnarumma scored a 6, but the back line was slated as Davide Calabria (5.5), Mateo Musacchio (4), Alessio Romagnoli (5) and Theo Hernandez (5) all struggled to contain La Viola.
Franck Kessie also received a 5, while Hakan Calhanoglu, Suso and Piatek all received a 4.
Rafael Leao was rightly given Player of the Match for Milan with a 7/10, with substitute Rade Krunic awarded a 5, the same as Leo Duarte.
