GdS: Milan’s rearguard should remain unchanged this summer with only gap already filled

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not expected to make many changes to their defensive department in the summer transfer window, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), the management are expected to invest heavily in the summer to fix some of the gaps in the squad, but the priority is mainly the midfield and attack at the moment.

No changes are foreseen in the rearguard, unless they serve to fill the void of a sale, with Fode Ballo-Toure among the players who have been heavily linked with an exit over the past few weeks and months.

The only real gap that needed to be filled was that of a reserve goalkeeper and Marco Sportiello has already been secured. An investment in defence was made last summer when Malick Thiaw arrived, and the management believe that he has what it takes to grow further and become a consistent starter.
