GdS: How Milan’s starting XI could look in 2025-26 based on targets

Two signings have been secured so far and AC Milan certainly won’t stop there. So, how could their starting XI look this upcoming season, should they land their targets?

That’s exactly what Gazzetta dello Sport has taken a look at this morning, taking a look at the current targets of the Rossoneri. After the Samuele Ricci and Luka Modric signings, it’s clear that the defensive flanks and the No.9 role are the most ‘urgent’ positions to take care of.

Furthermore, additional departures could force Igli Tare to make even more moves, meaning it’s all a bit up in the air as things stand. Nevertheless, with Archie Brown, Guela Doue, Ardon Jasharti, Nicolas Jackson and Dusan Vlahovuc as targets, the pink newspaper has put together an XI.

Milan’s projected starting XI

As you can see in the photo below, the starting centre-backs this upcoming season could be Fikayo Tomori and Strahinja Pavlovic, with the new additions Doue and Brown on either side. The midfield, meanwhile, could be completely new with Jashari, Ricci and Modric.

Up front, the feeling is that Santiago Gimenez will be the starter despite Gazzetta dello Sport’s graphic, but it obviously depends on potential reinforcements for this position. Vlahovic, for example, might not be too happy with sitting on the bench.

    1. Regardless the results can only be better no matter what you buy… Milan underperformed so f****** much last season in serie a and also against Feyenoord 2nd leg….

And also, Rejinders is sold, we start a “new” project. I believe in the new ones. Especially if we get Jashari (which I believe we will). I believe allegri and Tare will do great things. Milan will be in chl next season and hopefully we can get a class player next year or our newcomers(or at least one of them) will become close to being class players..

      Forza Milan Sempre

  1. It will be 6 players who haven’t played together ever.
It’s good that Ricci arrived early, and I hope the others will also.

  2. Bisogna fidarsi di Gimenez, il giocatore ha segnato 30 gol la scorsa stagione. Credo che lo farà di nuovo al Milan.

  3. if Allegri really wants to play possession then CBs will rather be Gabbia/Thiaw (Tomori/Pavlovic cant string 5 passes together). I also doubt that Gimenez will be downgraded to sub. Midfield will have either Fofana or RLC in it. if Brown arrives for LB then Barts will soon be our starter. I’d bet a lot that not even 9 of these names mentioned will ever be in a starting formation together

    1. The problem is, Gabbia is a terrible defender. Tomori is faster, better in 1v1, recovers quick and is tough in the tackle. Gabbia is slow, poor in 1v1 and is prone to lose concentration. He was shipped off to Villareal for a reason. Hopefully he improves this season.

    2. Pavlovic is decent but thiaw should start over tomori but there were outlets saying allegri liked tomori’s play style

  4. Last season our problem is our defense. Most of them because the lack of support of midfield when we are attacked. Look how fragile mancity with reinjder against the counter attack team. Thats why allegri insist of buying 3 mf with defense sense. Jashari supposed to replace reinjders wifh more defensive duty because hes more attacking than ricci. Thats when the question arises cause well only have puli and santi as true finisher. We know how wild when leao shoot. In the defense side. If we can find someone who can be better then theo or the other rb than i think could solved some problems. Thats why they dont go big on leoni or at least not agressve finding cb. The only cb that really can pass is thiaw but it could solved if we have ricci modric n jashari to start from the back. Pavlo os weak on marking but that could be learned thats why they try to stick with him because hes a monster. Gabbia is good but slow n made some silly mistakes. Hopefully when getting older hell learned. Tomori goodl technically but has a very weak character thats a big flaw in sport. I like thiaw but seems like he already hit his ceiling. I wont forget when he got bullies by fast n strong striker like marcus. Santi is weak in possesion but true predator. I just hope the new addition could help alot.

    1. Agree for the analysis…
In fact I guess this is the most accurate analysis in this comment section…

    2. I disagree that Tomori has bad character. He plays like a typical England defender, rough and high speed,. Which is a strength and a weakness of his. but he gives his all, 100% every game. When he had a strong defender beside him (Kjaer), he was as solid as a rock most matches. And he can handle the ball.

  5. I really would play Cukuweze on the rightwing instead the Always-lucky-goal-sh1t guy pulisic. he wont be at Allegri’s plan after next 5 seria game. mark my word

  6. Gabbia needs to play over tomori. Im sorry but tomori proved all of last season he’s not up for it anymore. The guy loses his man constantly and just gets angry at his teammates for his mistakes. 2 good games a season is not good enough to start. If an epl team is actually willing to table 25+ you take it

    1. Milan needs at least 1 CB in this window. Gabbia is nowhere near good enough, I disagree about Tomori, but the fact that several other teams also see value in him is telling. Not one club is linked to Gabbia, not one. Which is also telling. No one else wants him. Remember, Gabbia was at the center of what was a very leaky defense.

  7. Tomori continue to turn down few offers coming for him from premier league because he loves Milan so much, but he is not good with the ball at his feet, and also lack awareness,.. please get Udogie for the left flank, Kean/Retegui for the striker

  8. Milan even thinking of signing Jackson is a joke!!!! Do Milan scout watch this boys play before suggesting them?? I’ll rather beg Morata back than play Jackson

  9. These projected lineups are hilarious.

We NEVER get all of our targets and this year will be no different

Waste of time – Click Bait

  10. I puke every time i read about the way milan’s transfer market is going on ….. they are a bunch of incompetent clowns with rat furlani as their leader.
