GdS: Milan ‘unleashed’ on the market – two more signings wanted within 48 hours

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are wanting to sign two more players in the next 48 hours before they leave for their preseason tour of the USA, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) describes Milan as ‘unleashed’ in the summer window so far with five additions confirmed after Sandro Tonali’s sale, namely Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Romero, Christian Pulisic and Tijjani Reijnders.

Now, they want two more deals done before July 21 when the plane will be on the runway ready to take the squad across the ocean to the United States, and the names are Arnaut Danjuma and Yunus Musah.

CEO Giorgio Furlani and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada are working hard to sign the Villarreal and Valencia pair, who were left out of their clubs’ respective friendlies against Altach and Nottingham Forest last night.

Talks with the two Spanish clubs have been going on for days now and have entered the key phase. Danjuma is seen as a wild card for the attack because of his versatility and should arrive on a €2-3m paid loan, while Musah should complete the midfield for €18-20m.

Milan will also talk and talk about Samuel Chukwueze with Villarreal but their demands continue to be high. The feeling is Milan will beat Everton to Danjuma in a €2.5m loan, while Musah wants to join and calls never arrived from the Premier League as Valencia joped.

Pioli wants players capable of alternating between 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 and both fit the bill. The Dutchman is predominantly a striker who can play wide on the left, while the USA international is capable of playing multiple roles in midfield.

  1. A very proactive market. I think it will reap rewards. Some quite shrewd signings on paper. Musah might be the third strongest man on the planet behind Seedorf and Kessie, I think he will be a great addition. RLC might surprise us all. 191 and 185 is an upgrade on Tonali in terms of hight. Musah and Bennacer with the lower centre of gravity and better ball control. I’m excited!! Forza Milan!

  2. If chukwueze is a difficult one to pull through, I feel isaksen can do the job decently, and its always nice to develop a player, the most important thing is to bring in all your important signings before the 1st of august, it would have been lovely to finish before the tour, i dont like incoming business in august, unless its irresistable opportunities, wait for chukwueze only if you are sure that you will eventually get him

  3. Yes we have the makings of a superb team ,and I agree with what has been said I think Ruben Loftus cheek could be the best signing of all especially in a 433 formation…I feel very for Olivier Giroud as with all the pace around him he will score goals …yes this is going to be a great season for us with some very positive signings …We can definitely challenge for honours again this season …

  4. I meant very pleased for Olivier Giroud with all the pace around him ..it’s just a mistake as I am so excited for the season ahead …We now have a very good team indeed …

  5. a lot of new players, which carry some risk but all in all it seems our mercato is quite decent. IF they can stay healthy. RLC and Pulisic are injury prone. Hope for the best.
