GdS: Mystery surrounds future of Gazidis after his November contract expiry

By Oliver Fisher -

While directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara seem increasingly likely to renew with AC Milan, there continues to be some mystery surrounding CEO Ivan Gazidis.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes about the future of Gazidis in relation to what will happen within the Rossoneri’s Board of Directors, once the definitive closing of the RedBird Capital takeover happens in September.

President Paolo Scaroni made some interesting comments during an interview with GR Parliament: “Gerry Cardinale proposed that I remain President. For now I have replied that I want to understand the evolution of the situation. But I would be happy to continue”. On Gazidis, he added: “We are sure to count on him until his contract expires, until November.”

The paper claims that Gazidis ‘has a rather cold relationship with Paolo Maldini’ – Milan’s technical director – and it cannot be ruled out that he decides to leave and try something new once his contract runs out.

However, there will be a sign of continuity on the board as Elliott Management will remain with two directors out of the nine that make it up.

    1. Please have some respect. That guy worked bringing sponsorships to Milan, without that, the transfer funds spent in the last 4 years would have been lower. Even Ibra tank him in the locker room. We are Milanisti, we are not ungrateful people.

      1. Agree Yelnats24 people might not like him but they should still appreciate that milans economy and advertisemnent deals has improved under his tenure at the club.

      2. A glorified accountant that ruined countless transfers Maldini and Massara arranged. If he stuck to sponsors and pushing papers, he would have been best CEO of all time, but he had to stick his nose where it doesn’t belong.

        1. And you source is untrustworthy news media.

His time at Milan will end soon as the new owner embark new era, so you will get your wish that he leave, but when some of us calling him “big fools” or other insulting things, that cross the line and only serve to tarnish Milanisti image.
