AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale will be in Italy for the game against Paris Saint-Germain and one of the things that will undoubtedly be in his mind will be the new stadium project.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Cardinale will return to Milano and there will be a number of things on his list to tackle, one of which will be further talks about the new stadium.
The place designated for the construction of the Rossoneri’s new home is San Donato Milanese , where the Mayor of the town – Francesco Squeri – is defending the project from the ‘No Stadium’ committee who wish to halt the plans.
Around the end of the year, between December 2023 and January 2024, the program agreement should arrive from the Council of San Donato Milanese, the Lombardy Region and the other bodies involved.
Furthermore, in the coming months the shape of the stadium will be defined and the decision on the name of the facility (naming rights) will also come into play. Emirates, who have been Milan’s main sponsor for many years now, will be one of the first if not the first company called.
