GdS: Napoli make first contacts with €30m Milan midfielder over move

By Oliver Fisher -

Napoli have opened talks with the entourage of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie over a January move, a report claims.

TMW (via MilanNews.it) reported on Wednesday that Gennaro Gattuso has already informed president Aurelio De Laurentiis of who he wants as his first purchase at Napoli, and Kessie is that man.

Gattuso officially replaced another ex-Rossonero in Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli, with the latter having been relieved of his duties just moments after steering Napoli into the Champions League knockout stages courtesy of a 4-0 win over Genk.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, the first contacts have been made between Napoli and Kessie’s representatives over the idea of a move in the winter transfer window.

Gattuso in particular is keen on the idea of reuniting with the Ivorian, who Milan do not consider unsellable if the right offer is presented.

Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo reported on Wednesday that a €30m asking price has been set for the 22-year-old, who joined on a permanent deal just this summer following a two-year paid loan from Atalanta.
