GdS: Napoli hold young midfielder in high regard – why it matters to Milan

Marco Brescianini is being linked with a move to Napoli and AC Milan are keeping a close eye on the situation. Not because they intend to rival the Partenopei for the midfielder, but because they have a resale clause in their favour.

Braescianini came through the youth ranks at Milan and made his first-team debut in August 2020, coming off the bench against Cagliari. However, his career never took off with the Rossoneri and he thus joined Frosinone permanently last summer.

The midfield impressed in his first season with his new club and according to Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Napoli want his services. The sporting director Giovanni Manna would like to bolster the midfield with one of Brescianini and Billy Gilmour (Brighton), or perhaps even with both.

The likes of Atalanta and Fiorentina have also expressed an interest in the former Milan man. As such, Napoli could make their move relatively soon. The Rossoneri are watching on with great interest as they have a 50% resale clause, which was added in the deal when the 24-year-old was sold to Frosinone.

It has previously been reported that Frosinone want around €12m for the midfielder, meaning Milan would be entitled to €6m.
