GdS: Only Milan remain as Calhanoglu’s plan backfires – he is in constant contact with Pioli

By Oliver Fisher -

Hakan Calhanoglu’s plan to showcase his talents at the European Championships and hope for better offers has backfired, and now only Milan remain.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Calhanoglu’s plan was quite simple: to show off at the European Championships and attract the attention of some top clubs. However, he now his back to the wall and only Milan have made an offer to him.

The Rossoneri are waiting for his renewal, but obviously they will not wait indefinitely, so now it is up to the Turkey international to re-establish talks with Milan otherwise they could move on to other targets. Calhanoglu also received a monster offer from Qatar in recent weeks worth €32m, but Al-Duhail never convinced him as a destination.

Juventus have now slipped away, Atletico Madrid have just closed for Rodrigo De Paul and while Milan’s renewal proposal is still on the table, the Turk will have to give an answer in a rather short time. Stefano Pioli is in constant contact with the 27-year-old and could convince him.

No they should cut the offer to 3

If Milan didn’t wait for Donaruma, why are waiting for him? He is not the player that can lead any great team. And if Milan really wanted to send signal with Donaruma now with Calhanoglu are sending the opposite. This project can’t go forward with him leading the team in Champions league and Seria A.

      100% agreed

Milan is a great football club not a one man’s player. One player doesn’t make the team.
