GdS: The financial reasons behind Milan wanting to sell Origi this summer

AC Milan are very keen to sell Divock Origi this summer given his limited impact for the team in the 2022/23 season and the money that can be saved, a report claims.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), the Belgian forward is one of a group of players that have no role to play for the club in the United States of America during the summer.

Along with Ante Rebic, Devis Vasquez, Darko Lazetic and Fode Ballo-Toure, Origi is expected to leave Milan this summer with the club waiting for bids.

Milan hope that they can raise around €8-10 million from selling Origi, a player who arrived for free last summer from Liverpool. More importantly, €12m can be saved in waged by selling him as he is set to earn €4m per year for the next three seasons on his current deal at Milan.

There is some interest in him from West Ham United and other Premier League clubs, but it is yet to materialise into a proper bid.
