GdS: Pellegrino one step away from Milan after new meeting – the details

The youngster Marco Pellegrino, aged 21, has ended up on the radar of AC Milan and negotiations are ongoing with the Argentine side Platense. In fact, an agreement is now very much in sight.

Following the departure of Matteo Gabbia to Villarreal, Milan are looking to reinforce the defence and they have chosen Pellegrino for that task. According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (see the featured image), the parties are now very close after the most recent meeting.

The deal should cost Milan €5m and they will also include a percentage for a future resale. Pellegrino’s contract with Platense will expire in 2024 and that’s why the price was pushed down, making it a very good deal for the Rossoneri.

Being left-footed and very highly rated, Pellegrino will be a great addition to a defence that somewhat struggled during the pre-season. He will be the first left-footed centre-back at Milan since Alessio Romagnoli (not counting Davide Bartersaghi).

  1. So what does this say to Bartesaghi !! Again why are we signing someone when we have the same profile in our ranks !! No wonder none of our home grown talents get anywhere, they are constantly blocked by some shiny new toy from abroad, ridiculous. This guy is probably good, but that’s not the point, why are we wasting money on him when we already have the same profile at home ??

    1. My exact complain, if this player didn’t get the game time, would we be signing him? We have same prospects but Mr Pioli in his short wisdom deems them never ready and unplayable, and some people think Colombo is stupid to want out of the circus.

      1. His frame is atypical. He looks top heavy and small lower back/waist. Hope he doesnt get back issues the way he’s built. With his height you’d think he would be as agile but he’s quite.

        1. You didn’t have to even reply him, one would think Maldini would be ready by now but his lack of game time has limited him to a bare average player.

          1. True
Lets hope he can still make some steps
Even if he just becomes a rotation player
I would love to see him at milan
