GdS: Pioli can rejoice as Milan have a fully fit squad at long last

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has almost a full squad to choose from for tomorrow’s game against Fiorentina and no injury problems, a report has highlighted.

La Gazzetta dello Sport write that the list of absentees is not completely empty because Rade Krunic and Rafael Leao are missing due to suspension, but the treatment room is now empty and the squad are in full health.

Milan have had numerous waves of injuries this season to the extent that Pioli found himself having to defend himself from uncomfortable but inevitable questions about the resurgence of physical problems at Milanello.

However, today he will speak to the press with no injury updates to give, because this week Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi and Ismael Bennacer did all of the training sessions with the rest of the team.

Previously the trend has been that for every player who recovered there was another who picked up an issue, and it is logical to think about a situation without all those troubles where Milan might not be 18 points behind Napoli.

Bennacer was the nineteenth player to sit time out as the likes of Ibrahimovic, Maignan, Calabria, Florenzi, Saelemaekers, Rebic and Origi have all missed big chunks of the campaign. The hope now is that the corner has been turned.
