GdS: Pioli has a new weapon as Milan beat Man Utd to Hauge – when his debut should be

By Oliver Fisher -

There were several clubs on him, including Manchester United, but in the end Milan won and secured the performance of Jens Petter Hauge.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport report (via MilanNews), the young Norwegian landed in Italy yesterday and today – after having undergone medical examinations – he will go to Casa Milan to sign a five-year contract.

Unfortunately for head coach Stefano Pioli, Hauge will not be able to board the plane to Portugal this afternoon in view of tomorrow’s Europa League Play-Off against Rio Ave, but it won’t be long before fans see him on the pitch. In fact, the 20-year-old striker will be called up for Sunday’s Serie A game against Spezia at San Siro.

Pioli will thus have a new arrow available for his attacking trident, as Hauge is ideal for the 4-2-3-1. He can play on both flanks and possibly also as a playmaker behind the striker.

A few days ago there were rumours regarding the possibility of leaving him at Bodo/Glimt until December, but now it seems he is destined to stay in Milan right away, and Sunday could mark his debut.

  1. I like this guy. His stile of play remembers me of Kaka. His explosive sprint, his perfect first touch, very good shot take. He is allways calm and his eyes are up seeking the best variant to create danger. If Pioli gives him play time, he will become the best player Milan had in a long time.

  2. His acceleration is similar to Kaka.. He has an eye for passing between opposing defenders.
I hope Pioli will play him in Kaka’s role, he can learn the Milan way as Hakan’s deputy n even start considering Hakan can also play on the left wing. Pette Hauge can also play false nine. Diaz being on the right wing.

  3. He’s light on his feet, confident, creative. Two players are leaving who have momentum control issues. This lad is deft.
