GdS: Pioli ponders defensive change for Benevento game as return to winning ways is crucial

By Oliver Fisher -

After Monday night’s disaster in the capital against Lazio, Stefano Pioli has already turned his attention towards Saturday’s game against Benevento.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport writes (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri must return to winning ways immediately after two defeats on the spin and they simply have to do so on Saturday evening at San Siro against Benevento.

Pioli is thinking of some lineup changes and one of them could come in defence, as the presence of Fikayo Tomori from the first minute is not certain, who is in a battle for a starting shirt with Alessio Romagnoli.

Tomori is not in the best of form at the moment. Against Genoa he completely lost Mattia Destro – the man he was supposed to be marking – for their goal, while against Sassuolo he gave too much space to Giacomo Raspadori to turn and finish easily to seal the three points for the Neroverdi.

Joaquin Correa tormented the Englishman and beat him too easily in the one-on-one that resulted in the goal to make it 2-0, so a game off to recover and remain fresh could be in order.
