GdS: Pioli sets clear identikit as Milan look to strengthen in three positions

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has made it clear what he wants from potential summer signings in terms of their mould, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are some tactical considerations taking place in Milan’s pursuit of targets, starting with Charles De Ketelaere and Paulo Dybala who are both eyed for the No.10 role.

Hakim Ziyech arriving in addition to De Ketelaere for example is something that has reservations because the Moroccan tends to cut in from from the right and use his left foot thus potentially causing some overlaps with the Belgian’s position. Therefore, a right winger who uses the flank more might be a better fit.

In terms of signings for the midfield, Pioli wants a player capable of attacking the area, but also helping in the possession and non-possession phases, scoring a few goals if possible too. This is the identikit sought by Pioli and Renato Sanches is the first name on the list, with Hamed Junior Traore an alternative with different characteristics.
