AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is set to field Diogo Dalot and Soualiho Meite from the start against Manchester United again, a report claims.
MilanNews reported yesterday that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer and Alessio Romagnoli participated in the entire training session with the rest of the squad, implying that they will be fully available for the game on Thursday.
Simon Kjaer is fine as well, but forward Rafael Leao did an individual workout. Davide Calabria meanwhile is working separately from the rest of the team but will attempt to recover for the game, while Mario Mandzukic will return after the break.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, Gianluigi Donnarumma will be in goal protected by a back four of Diogo Dalot, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez from right to left.
Soualiho Meite and Franck Kessie will be the central midfield pairing, with Alexis Saelemaekers and Rade Krunic on the right and left wing respectively and Ante Rebic leading the line as the centre-forward, with Hakan Calhanoglu in the No.10 role.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Dalot, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Meite, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Krunic; Rebic.
Probable Man Utd XI (4-2-3-1): Henderson; Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; James, Bruno Fernandes, Rashford; Cavani.
So Milan don’t want to win the game?
Correct. Pioli thinks Man U are going to play just as bad as leg 1 and that the same thing will work again. In my opinion this is always Pioli’s downfall, he finds something that works for a little and he’s too afraid to make the next move. Stuck.
