AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to make changes to his starting line-up for the game against Lecce on Sunday compared to the team that played against Napoli.
According to what is being reported by this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pioli should make a couple of changes to the defensive department with Alessandro Florenzi tipped to replace the suspended Davide Calabria at right-back and Pierre Kalulu to come in for Simon Kjaer.
There will also apparently be a change in midfield with Rade Krunic getting a rest and Tommaso Pobega coming in to partner Sandro Tonali, while ahead of them Brahim Diaz should take Ismael Bennacer’s spot.
On the right wing Alexis Saelemaekers is currently the favourite to start, with Rafael Leao on the opposite wing and Ante Rebic down as the striker.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Tonali, Pobega; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Rebic.
Probable Lecce XI (4-3-3): Falcone; Gendrey, Baschirotto, Umtiti, Gallo; Blin, Hjulmand, Oudin; Strefezza, Ceesay, Di Francesco.
Why rubic why
Giroud needs rest, and Origi is completely useless.
Because Origi is useless, Ibra’s gone till the end of season, and Giroud needs rest.
If only rebic can play likr sheva. Or put cdk to gain his confident making goals or assists
Kalulu as a CB again means we will probobly concead a goal again. Why not play Thiaw or Gabia there. And move Kalulu on the right. Or try Kalulu as a DM, i think he will shine in that position with his movement, ball carying and tackling.
I could not have said it better. Thiaw should 100% partner Tomori if Kjaer is being rested, and Kalulu to RB instead of the slow Florenzi. Particularly since the latter’s crossing skills will be less useful without target man Giroud starting. It would be better for Florenzi to come in as a sub with Giroud later on if needed.
Several months ago i didnt doubt Pioli’s decision to not playing Adli but now im starting to questioning his decision, if he can keep Rebic,Origi and CDK why not Adli? was he really that bad compare to those 3? i understand that he probably keeps playing CDK because of his transfer cost us a lot and we didnt want him to rot in the bench dropping his value more.
People just need to start forgetting Adli. He’s obviously not up to scratch, just like Vranckx, who was, in my opinion, the least useful player against Bologna after Origi.
Pobega is looking good so no need to try kalulu in midfield. Rebic was unlucky the last time in the league. He looked good from the highlights. Better positioning in the box than origi. I think cdk should maybe start though as CF. I believe leao wants to help the youngster and if he can do more simple passes in the box like the assist for giroud then he can surely score. But having rebic or cdk is fine. They both still work hard enough when they dont have the ball. Ha i would love to see pobega be given a chance to play CF… Hes big and strong. Has desire and scores whenever he is further up. Hopefully this is leao back now though and i can see saelemaekers sneaking a goal or messias helping out when he comes on. Its a must win and after the confidence in the champions league from the players i think we should win. Lecce have been decent though but hopefully milan dont do the usual slip up against the smaller teams now…
Keep on eye on Strefezza in this game. This is an interesting “budget option” for RW, along with Bologna’s Orsolini.
We’ll be fighting for Europa League with these budget options. Messias and Saelemaekers are already better “budget options”. No need to add more deadwood.
