AC Milan started 2023 with a win against Salernitana but they do not have long to celebrate it as they return to action against Roma on Sunday at San Siro.
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Pioli is expected to remain loyal to the team that secured him a first win of the year on Wednesday, meaning a back four of Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez in front of the goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu.
Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali are tipped to keep their places, with Brahim Diaz ahead of them in the role of central attacking midfielder.
Completing the attack should be Alexis Saelemaekers on the right wing, Rafael Leao on the left and Olivier Giroud up front. The one selection battle at the moment is Brahim vs. Charles De Ketelaere for the playmaker role, with the Spaniard 70% favourite.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Giroud.
