GdS: Probable XIs for Milan vs. Sassuolo – Dalot and Meite in as Ibra and Bennacer are doubts

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan know that they must rack up another three points tonight against Sassuolo ahead of Monday’s trip to face Lazio.

There are some injury problems for Pioli to deal with as Sky reporter Peppe Di Stefano (via MilanNews) stated that neither Ismael Bennacer nor Zlatan Ibrahimovic are doing well at the moment and are not at 100%, while the same can be said for Theo Hernandez and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Below – according to La Gazzetta dello Sport – are the probable line-ups of Milan and Sassuolo. Donnarumma is set to be in goal with a back four of Dalot, Kjaer, Tomori and Theo from right to left. Meite and Kessie will be the double pivot with Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu and Rebic the trio behind Leao.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Dalot, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Meite, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Leao.

Probable Sassuolo XI (4-2-3-1): Advice; Muldur, Chiriches, Ferrari, Rogerio; Obiang, Locatelli; Berardi, Djuricic, Boga; Raspadori.

  1. Ibrahimovic clearly has ongoing injury issues. Do we really want to entrust our attack to him for another year / two years? If he plays, he’d be more reliable as a “super-sub”. The attack badly needs some new blood, whether or not Milan qualify for the C League.

  2. Mandzukic should start this game as the CF, Leao is not a real CF either RWF or LWF just let him mount pressure on Rebic and Maekers, Pioli must look sharp at these last hour and stop playing players at their uncomfortable zone.
