GdS: Probable XIs for Roma vs. Milan – Mourinho and Pioli’s choices made

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli should revert back to the team that had success against Napoli for tomorrow’s crucial game against Roma.

That is according to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, who write that Mike Maignan will be in goal for Milan with Davide Calabria and Simon Kjaer coming back into the defence at the expense of Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw. Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez complete the rearguard.

In midfield, the double pivot should be Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic with Ismael Bennacer ahead of them forming a triangle that did so well in neutralising Napoli’s attempts to control the central areas.

Olivier Giroud – back from a calf bruise – should lead the line with Brahim Diaz to his right and Rafael Leao to his left, completing the attack.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Brahim Diaz, Bennacer, Leao; Giroud.

Probable Roma XI (3-4-2-1): Patricio; Mancini, Kumbulla, Ibanez; Zalewski, Cristante, Matic, Spinazzola; Pellegrini, El Shaarawy; Belotti.
