GdS: Probable XIs for Lazio vs. Milan – Bennacer’s absence forces alterations

By Oliver Fisher -

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has published the probable starting line-ups of AC Milan and Lazio ahead of tonight’s game in the capital.

Milan will be without Ismael Bennacer who is out with a slight ankle problem, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns to the squad as does Ante Rebic, meaning that Stefano Pioli has a couple more options in attack compared to the cup derby loss in midweek.

Mike Maignan will have a four-man defence in front of him with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez as the right-back and left-back respectively, and Pierre Kalulu will partner Fikayo Tomori in the heart of the back line.

Franck Kessie moves back from his central attacking midfielder role to accompany Sandro Tonali in the double pivot, and Brahim Diaz should get the nod. Alexis Saelemaekers and Rafael Leao should be on the right and left wing, behind Olivier Giroud.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, T. Hernandez; Kessie, Tonali; Saelemaekers, B. Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

Probable Lazio XI (4-3-3): Strakosha; Lazzari, Luiz Felipe, Acerbi, Hysaj; Milinkovic-Savic, Leiva, Luis Alberto; F. Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.
