GdS: Probable XIs for Milan vs. Napoli – Pioli settles on solution without Leao

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli appears to have settled on a plan to replace Rafael Leao for the game against Napoli at San Siro tomorrow night.

According to the latest from newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Pioli should field a defence consisting of Mike Maignan in goal with Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez the back four from right to left.

Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali will once again be entrusted as the double pivot, with Charles De Ketelaere tipped to come back in as the central attacking midfielder ahead of them.

Junior Messias should be on the right flank with Alexis Saelemaekers switching over to the left wing with Leao suspended, hoping to build on his Champions League goal in midweek, as will Olivier Giroud up front.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, De Ketelaere, Saelemaekers; Giroud.

Probable Napoli XI (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Kim; Oliveira; Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Politano, Raspadori, Kvaratskhelia.

    1. Dest is a right wing back. He hasn’t even settled into playing on the right for Milan and you already want him to switch positions?

      1. Dest can and has played on both sides, as a fullback or further forward. Not saying I’d start him, but he is not just a right-wing back.
