GdS: Probable XIs for Milan vs. Udinese – Krunic, Brahim Diaz and Rebic entrusted

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan get their 2022-23 Serie A campaign underway as the defending champions when they welcome Udinese to San Siro this evening.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Stefano Pioli will field Ante Rebic from the first minute against Udinese with Divock Origi and Olivier Giroud both only fit enough to make the bench having only just rejoined team training.

Junior Messias and Rafael Leao should make up the right and left wingers respectively with Brahim Diaz preferred over either of the new additions Yacine Adli and Charles De Ketelaere in the playmaker role.

With Sandro Tonali injured, Rade Krunic is tipped to get the nod to start alongside Ismael Bennacer in the double pivot, ahead of a first choice back four featuring Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori (fresh from a renewal) and Theo Hernandez in front of goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Bennacer, Krunic; Messias, Díaz, Leao; Rebic.

Probable Udinese XI (3-5-2): Silvestri; Becao, Perez, Nuytinck; Soppy, Pereyra, Walace, Makengo, Udogie; Deulofeu, Success.

  1. Why is Diaz starting ? why not Adil or CDK? Diaz has his heart set on returning to Real, so why do Milan keeping Real player at the expense of their one player, this just don’t make any sense!!!!

    1. Calm down. It is the first game and pioli is going with consistency and players who are familiar with the league. If brahim does not perform, he will not be a starter for long
