GdS: Ralf Rangnick can rest easy as star defender commits future to Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Theo Hernandez has made it clear that his will is to stay with AC Milan past the summer and into the future, according to a report.

A feature in Friday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) notes how the Frenchman was Paolo Maldini’s first big market hit. The Rossoneri director flew to Ibiza to convince Theo to leave Spain and accept the offer of the Milan.

A year later it is easy to see why Maldini wanted him so badly, as he has scored six goals in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the most consistent performers in the squad.

His excellent performances have obviously attracted the attention of several clubs that would like to try to snatch him, but his words yesterday essentially rejected their advances.

“I have to say thanks to Milan and Maldini because they trusted me: Paolo believed in me and here I am really happy. I am excited to be at Milan and I decided to stay with the Rossoneri,” he said.

Theo – who has made 25 appearances between Serie A and the Coppa Italia this season – has affirmed his commitment to the club. Rangnick can therefore rest easy: Theo wants to stay at Milan.
