Ralf Rangnick has contacted AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to inform him of the plans regarding his future, a report claims.
According to Friday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), Calhanoglu is a player highly appreciated by the prospective next Rossoneri manager Ralf Rangnick, who in January 2019 wanted to sign him for RB Leipzig.
The German seems destined to become the new Milan boss meaning the pair could finally unite ahead of the 2020-21 season, which is the last season that Calhanoglu is contracted to Milan.
The paper claims that Rangnick contacted Calhanoglu in recent months, with Red Bull’s current Head of Sport and Development Soccer informing him about his plans and expressing his appreciation for the player
Barring surprises, Rangnick and Calhanoglu will work together next season, even if the twists and turns should never be excluded 100%. Now, the attention will turn to the renewal of the Turkey international as a gesture of faith.
