GdS: Rangnick will not be joining AC Milan – the Rossoneri want an elite coach instead

By Oliver Fisher -

Ralf Rangnick will not be AC Milan’s new head coach and sporting director for next season, a report claims, despite speculation from Germany claiming otherwise.

German outlet Bild dropped a bombshell earlier this month when they claimed that Ralf Rangnick is in advanced talks to become the new head coach and sporting director of AC Milan

Rangnick then did an interview in January and denied having held talks with Milan, but hinted that it is a club he would be interested in joining as he has admired them since the 1980s. He even opened up to the possibility of becoming a head coach again, which stacks up with the latest reports.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it) have offered their take on the situation, claiming that for next season, Milan will focus on a top-tier manager to try to finally reach the Champions League.

That’s why Ralf Rangnick will not be the next Rossoneri boss, as the paper claims that althought the German did very well with Leipzig, he has no experience in Serie A and as a result his candidacy is not supported by the current Milan leadership.
