GdS: Rebic has heart set on Milan stay – he feels ‘happy and involved’ in the project

Winger Ante Rebic wishes to stay at AC Milan next season and beyond, a report claims, despite the potential shake-up in management.

Friday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reports that despite their being an imminent revolution on the horizon, the Croatia international wishes to remain with the Rossoneri, where he feels happy.

With seven goals games in 11 games in all competitions so far in 2020, Rebic has already established himself a key force in the current Milan side as much as Ibrahimovic himself.

Milan have started to think about the opportunity to negotiate a permanent deal before the expiration of his loan in 2021. The new idea is to burn the competition and to take advantage of this ‘honeymoon period’ with the ex-Fiorentina man.

They could even get Rebic for a better price too, given the economic difficulties that will affect football for the next summer window. At the time of the exchange of loans involving André Silva, no price was set for a possible redemption of either.

Rebic is happy and feels very involved in the project. Stefano Pioli could continue as head coach too with the chances of Ralf Rangnick’s arrival currently falling.

Accepting the challenge however would also mean re-discussing the €3million salary he currently earns, which touches the roof that the club’s owners have struck up.
