AC Milan have decided to postpone their reinforcement for the attack and thus save the money for the summer. Hakim Ziyech is no longer the main target as the Rossoneri have another player in mind, a report claims.
Ziyech has been heavily linked with the Rossoneri lately but due to his success at the World Cup, the operation is simply too expensive for Milan. Therefore, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have decided to postpone any attacking reinforcement until the summer.
This was reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, stating that the directors are in an agreement with Stefano Pioli with regard to the squad situation. They believe Milan are competitive enough to catch up with Napoli in the Scudetto race.
By not making any attacking singing next month, Milan will have more money to spend in the summer and RB Salzburg’s Noah Okafor is their big target, per the newspaper. He will cost at least €25m but the Rossoneri are convinced of his qualities.

Last year in the winter they postponed to have more money in the summer. Then in the summer Milan only had around 35-40 mil to spend!!

I don’t think the Ziyech transfer was ever going to happen regardless of his World Cup performance. His salary was already too high and he is not young so doesn’t really fit Milan’s typical transfer strategy. Milan only spend in January if they can take advantage of a good opportunity. This window is notoriously an expensive one where players don’t come as cheap as they do in the summer so I doubt anything beyond a loan will happen.
I just don’t have a good feeling about this transfer. I like Okafor but I’d rather a true striker for us more akin to a younger Giroud or Ibra. In my opinion if Juve end up having any financial issues during this investigation we should capitalize and try and bring in either Vlahovic or Chiesa. Would be the dream.
IF Juve gets relegated… Only then we should buy players from them. Either of those two would make Milan stronger though.
