GdS: Striker expects Chelsea to maintain promise after agreeing €8m contract with Milan

AC Milan have struck an agreement with Olivier Giroud and now his agents are working to make sure he gets his move, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri have reached an agreement with the entourage of the French striker on the basis of a two-year contract worth around €4m net per season, including bonuses.

The 34-year-old has given his approval to the move and the final step is to get Chelsea to agree to the idea of letting him leave without a transfer fee being involved, given that the Blues used their option to extend his contract until 2022 earlier in the month.

Giroud has sent his agents to unblock the situation with the London club because wants to wear the Milan shirt and hopes that the operation can be closed in a short time, even if he is currently at the Euros with France. Chelsea promised to him that they would release him in case of offers from abroad, and he expects his word to be kept.
