GdS: Two more litmus tests approach – Pioli wants to make Elliott regret their choices

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has four games to try and overturn the plans of Elliott Management and remain at AC Milan, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) notes how the Rossoneri ownership have already chosen Ralf Rangnick and will not go back on that decision, but Pioli has managed to impress them for a number of reasons.

His side wins and plays well, presses high and attacks the spaces to perfection, and he has virtually the whole team scoring. It is not difficult to remember the hashtag #PioliOut that greeted him after his arrival last October, and now those same fans have changed their mind.

Pioli has pretty much secured a spot in Europe (the Rossoneri are at +8 on eighth place), but there are at least two other obstacles they can overcome. On Tuesday night they face a resurgent Sassuolo before Gasperini’s Atalanta on Friday: two teams that, just like Milan, are flying at the moment.

If Milan pass those tests with flying colours too, the decision to move on from Pioli becomes even more questionable and the risks become greater.
