GdS: Update on Barcelona’s interest in Leao; no contacts made

By Oliver Fisher -

There is ‘no concrete evidence’ of Barcelona’s interest in AC Milan star Rafael Leao, according to the latest reports.

Spanish outlet Diario AS reported earlier in the week that the Catalan giants have shortlisted Leao as a possible replacement for Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay international is now 32, has a deal until 2021 and has been inconsistent as of late, meaning Barca are looking for a long-term replacement.

Leao arrived at Milan in the summer for €28m and scored his first goal for the club two weeks ago.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport though – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan are not aware of any interest from Barcelona in the Portuguese starlet.

In addition, the player’s agent has not been contacted either, so there is no concrete evidence to suggest that Barca are serious in their interest yet.
