Junior Messias’ tour of the United States is over after it was confirmed that he picked up a muscle injury during the game against Real Madrid.
Just after the half-hour mark of the game during the early hours of Monday morning Messias went down holding his hip and the decision was made by Pioli to withdraw him from the action, as summer signing Luka Romero took his place.
According to what is being reported by Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Messias has a rectus femoris problem in his left thigh, therefore a muscular issue that will keep him sidelined.
That means the few minutes played pre-injury against Real Madrid will remain the only ones of the American tour for him, and the Brazilian winger will be re-evaluated upon return to Italy.
Whether this has any impact regarding his potential exit – amid links with Torino and Besiktas – remains to be seen in the coming days.
Yeei! Messias is our talisman, never let him leave.
