GdS: West Ham aim to cut losses on €40m man with Milan leading Juventus in pursuit

By Oliver Fisher -

Gianluca Scamacca’s move to West Ham has not worked out so far and he could leave after a season, with AC Milan and Juventus reportedly interested.

Scamacca was expected to be the man leading the line for West Ham this season after the €40m invested to sign him from Sassuolo but he has struggled thus far and his season is over after he underwent surgery on a knee problem on 15 April.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) write that Milan have already come forward in a bid to potentially seize a low-cost opportunity, given that the London club appear open to the idea of a loan.

The details of the operation have to be defined, but the conditions are all there. Of course, the Rossoneri management first wants to make sure that the centre-forward has fully recovered from the surgery which will keep him out for three months.

It is an understandable caution to take also considering the recent precedent with Divock Origi, who was slow to recover from the injury suffered towards the end of his time Liverpool. It affected his preseason, and he never got going.

However, eyes are also on Juventus. Dusan Vlahovic is not certain of staying given sanctions could exclude the club from European competitions and the sale of the Serbian could thus lead the Bianconeri to go after Scamacca, even if Milan are currently on pole.

  1. Not worth , he have surgery and cannot available in pre season. He will only end as giroud back up,. AC Milan need striker that ready for start and better than giroud

    1. I like Scamacca but I agree with this: “Milan need striker that ready for start and better than giroud”.
