Mattia Liberali signed his first professional contract with AC Milan yesterday and it’s a deal that the player, as well as the Rossoneri, is very happy about. Indeed, the winger has a bright future ahead of him.
The 16-year-old, who has played mainly for the U16s and U17s, signed a four-year contract with Milan yesterday (read here). Given how the youngster has performed, the Rossoneri are thrilled with the matter.
As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Liberali is a left-footed right winger who also can play as an attacking midfielder when needed. He has been in Milan’s academy since 2014 and in recent years, he has performed with great success for the U16s and U17s.
Liberali combines technical ability, mainly his dribbling, with great strength and this is what has earned him the call-up to Italy’s U17 side. He’s considered one of the key players even on a national level and that says a lot.
He was one of the stars for Milan’s U16 team this past season, along with Francesco Camarda, and led them to the semi-finals of the Scudetto playoffs. And last year, he won the Scudetto with Milan’s U15 side (the team’s first Scudetto in 12 years).
In short, Liberali has already impressed many with his performances including Milan legend Billy Costacurta. In a recent interview, he said the following: “Any guy who struck me? Mattia Liberali, class of 2007 at Milan. He is young, but he’s similar to Foden”.
Liberali will play with the Primavera, led by Ignazio Abate, next season and it will be very interesting to see him in action.
If he continues like this he will be sold for pure profit at 18 so we can sign some random foreigner.
