One of the players that must resolve their future ahead of 2025-26 is Lorenzo Colombo, and a new option has emerged.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MN24), Genoa have expressed an interest in signing Colombo. The Ligurian club are aiming for a season-long dry loan for the centre-forward, who returned to Milan after spending last season on loan at Empoli.

Genoa are looking for reinforcements for the attacking department, and Colombo – despite the relegation with Empoli – has shown that he has the quality to play in Serie A. The formula of a dry loan is particularly appreciated by the Grifone, who would like to avoid spending money up front.
For Milan, another loan could be a solution to guarantee him continuity and allow him to complete his growth path, something that in the red and black – with fierce competition – could be more complex. The 23-year-old needs minutes to mature and a club like Genoa could offer him the ideal place.
Negotiations between Milan and Genoa for Colombo are ongoing but the Rossoneri carefully evaluate all options for the future. Torino were mentioned as having an interest in the youth sector graduate, as his name came up in the talks over Samuele Ricci.
What growth he is 23 years old. Also sinse Jovic left and Camarda is sold we have only one striker left Gimenez. So Colombo can be a back up or sell him. No piont to keep sending him on loans any more.
Agree there is a role for him to do what Jovic did last season. And it is a free list spot that is otherwise unusable for an Academy trained player.
I like Colombo. The player needs a fair chance in the red and black. Simple football with eleven players playing on the pitch. 4-4-2.
I’d give him a chance as a 3rd striker, if it doesn’t work out, we can cashout on him next season. It’s easier for him to come good with enough quality around him and less pressure than to be fighting with an already struggling team
You don’t really need a 3rd striker if you play only with 1 upfront. I’d rather see him go & get as many minutes as he can, considering he is 23 already.
You have 17 unrestricted slots. Then 4 national trained and 4 Academy trained.
Apparently the club is aiming for a list of 23 players, which seems sensible for a season without UEFA football.
That means we need to use at least 6 of the 8 restricted slots. Or rely on under 23s for depth.
With Gabbia as the only other Academy player after Calabria left. This makes me think we need at least one of Colombo or Pobega to stay for depth.

Mid table team player. Not good enough for Milan.
