Giornale: Milan forward has rejected offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan forward Ante Rebic has turned down offers from both Saudi Arabian and Turkish clubs despite having no future at the club, a report claims.

As has been reported by Il Giornale (via Milan News), the Croatian forward has got no place in the project at Milan under Stefano Pioli anymore and is expected to leave the club this summer.

He had very limited involvement in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign and when he did play, his impact was minimal. All parties know that it is time to part ways, but Rebic is being selective.

The report claims that he has been offered contracts by Saudi Arabian clubs as well as Turkish ones but he has turned them down.

Milan want to sell him outright so that they get a small transfer fee but Besiktas supposedly want to sign him on loan with the option of a permanent move next summer.

  1. I just dont get Rebic used to one of milans strongest players but since he got injured things change. Pioli contributed to some of the problems he kept developing diaz brahim at the expense of our players.

    1. Indeed. I’m sure he can still play but Pioli failed to get him into proper match fitness after his (constant) injuries. And it didn’t help that Leao was in shape and Rebic wasn’t. But still, I would have preferred Rebic over Origi as the main striker.

    2. Yeah, and what is funny Rebic played RW for Croatia in 2018 when they were 3rd. I don’t understand why wasn’t he considered for that position more since other 2 RWs were quite bad most of the time…

  2. understandable. I also wouldnt go just anywhere. Plus. His 4M salary is gonna be a problem for “smoll” clubs.
Think they’re better just cutting him lose than trying to sell him

  3. He must have a destination in mind surely, be it Frankfurt or somewhere else. I thought he’d be prime Saudi Arabia target material, but if he doesn’t want to move there can’t blame him for that.

If he does stay, I hope he’s given a fair chance because a fit Rebic is a great asset and can never fault his workrate.

  4. Rebic & pioli cannot work together anymore. The best solution just loan him out till his contract expire. He is selective choose his club & his salary 3,5m euro make it hard for mid table team sign him
