The signing of Olivier Giroud from Chelsea last summer could well turn out to be one of the best bargains in AC Milan’s recent history, a report has outlined.
Giroud has earned a reputation for being the man for the big occasion throughout his career and that extended into his time with the Rossoneri. He scored vital goals in Milan’s Scudetto win, such as his brace against Inter and winner against Napoli among others, and he has already netted against the Nerazzurri this season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) recalls how Milan paid €1m to sign the Frenchman from Chelsea, and he has scored 14 goals in Serie A which works out at €71,428 per goal.
This is about 90 times less than what each Dusan Vlahovic goal costs to Juventus, while the paper also notes that each Marko Arnautovic goal costs €150,000 to Bologna, while for Udinese’s Beto the ratio is €625,000 per goal.
I’m glad Maldini & Masara got him cause I don’t think last season Milan can win a scudetto without his goals.

Yes Giroud was an absolute bargain in footballing terms ..I said when AC Milan signed him ,that we would win the scuddeto,which indeed we have done .
The man is amazing and inside the 18 yard area ,he is simply the best ,his hold up play is brilliant and yes a man for the big occasion…Just one more point to add just check out this,AC MILAN very rarely lose a game when he starts …He has plenty of goals left in him ..never right this man off ..He will score some amazing goals ..What a man to have lead the line ..let me just add this that the Ac Milan management team are brilliant they know how to bring the best out of there players ..We can win the scuddeto again this season .
