CorSport: Giroud’s four-game drought hinders Milan – against Genoa he must put things right

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud has scored some important goal for AC Milan this season but he is experiencing a mini-drought at the moment, which must end soon.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) takes a look at the scoring problems that Milan have had in the last six games – which have yielded only four games – and the man who should solve it first is Olivier Giroud.

The Frenchman’s last goal was the one scored in Naples against Napoli on 6 March, which is more than a month ago. Of course it was a very important one in the scheme of the season – in addition to his brace against Inter – but with six games remaining, it is important that the veteran gets back to scoring.

Having not scored against Empoli, Cagliari, Bologna and Torino, Giroud is on a four-game scoreless streak which is his joint-longest of the season. Tomorrow night against Genoa he can get back on course.

  1. Stop putting the blame on the strikers, Giroud have been doing a great job despite the crisis in the attack, to score goals it doesn’t depends on him but team work, our Lw, AM and RW have been doing nothing to contribute to strikers score goals, they must act quickly because our scudetto race is at risk
