GdS: Giroud turns public opinion back in his favour with contract renewal imminent

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud has rapidly improved the mood around the club and himself after scoring the winning goal against Torino on Friday night, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Milan fans have been reminded of what Giroud can bring to the team after a barren spell in front of goal.

Milan had not won a match since January 4 but Giroud’s trademark header at San Siro helped the Rossoneri back into the top four.

The mood towards him will be helped further when he signs the new contract that will keep him at Milan for next season as well, on the same terms as the current deal.

A new meeting is expected soon to finalise the deal with both parties wanting to continue together. If he can combine that renewal with more goals, Milan fans will be fully in love with the Frenchman again.

  1. He didn’t deserve any pay rise ffs 🙄.
He’s too old and definitely we need a young and agile striker for next season.
I think Olivier should be a backup rather than being the main man for us next season.

  2. How? He was horrible for 80 minutes. 55% pass rate. He can’t even pass properly anymore. Yeah, the goal was ok, but now he has to score 3 matches in a row, not every 6 matches…
