There are a lot of questionable names on AC Milan’s wish list this summer, but the full shortlist for the new No.9 has been revealed.
A striker is needed for next season, there can be no denying it. With just Santiago Gimenez present, there is too much reliance on a striker who has failed to really deliver so far. That is not to say he cannot come good. However, there needs to be a shared responsibility.

Of course, this is without even considering that he is literally the only option. Luka Jovic, Francesco Camarda and Tammy Abraham all will leave this summer, leaving the front line looking rather bare.
The identikit
As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, a ‘real’ striker will be needed this summer, as much has been confirmed by Igli Tare. A different option to Santiago Gimenez, who has been tested at the highest levels.
Because of this, the purchase will have the largest budget allocated. After all, it can make or break the Rossoneri’s season if they are not up to the standard required.
The dream and the rest
The dream, according to the report, is Viktor Gyokeres, though he is on the verge of moving to Arsenal this summer. If he were to arrive, it would be the work of a miracle. In other words, he can be crossed off.
Names like Darwin Nunez, Mateo Retegui, Lorenzo Lucca and Dusan Vlahovic all feature as possibilities, with these routes being heavily discussed already this summer. In fact, these are probably the most likely names.
Elsewhere, Goncalo Ramos, Samu Aghehowa, Victor Boniface, Dominic Solanke, Alexander Sorloth, Vaggelis Pavlidis, Serhou Guirassy, Emanuel Emegha, Artem Dovbyk and Rasmus Hojlund are fitting of the profile sought by Milan and Igli Tare.
There is a lot of time to cross the names out. However, Milan must be clinical in finding the man to be clinical for them.
If we can pay for Gyökeres we can pay for Osimhen and that is not going to happen with this management.

I can’t say much about Gyökeres because i haven’t seen him much. But i always get doubts when a topscorer from the Portuguese league is a transfer topic

To be honest smartest would be to play Gimenez until January window and evaluate then if need another striker, and let Camarda be 2nd striker so he also grow. Then we would save $ but could instead invest in LB and RB.

I agree Osimhen would be a dream, but what do you think of having two expensive attackers in the team, Osimhen and Gimenez? They both expect to play (a lot) and we only play Seria A.
Personally I think we should go for a clear back-up for Gimenez, and allocate our limited resources for midfield and defence.
I share your sentiments and I agree it could upset the balance in the CF position, but my instincts tells me we may play in a 2 strikers formation at some point.
Secondly, I see singing Osimhen as a no brainer in comparison with Gimenez. Osimhen’s characteristics shows he’s very very compatible with Serie A, proven in the league time and time again.
Higuain was an expensive striker for Juventus, but once Ronaldo was available, they signed home and sent Higuain to Milan.
Gimenez is not a bad striker, but I think Osimhen is miles ahead in general quality of gameplay, physicality and finishing, so I wouldn’t mind finding a solution for him if it means we sign Osimhen.
But I completely agree with you that our major priorities are in midfield, and we need at least two physical and combative DM.

I don’t understand the need of a top striker at the moment. Why not give gimenez a chance? He’s a great goal scorer. We’re playing in serie a only and I would fully stock up on the midfield and defence so they can gel and hopefully the following season we are in European competitions and the bringing in a top striker would be good. Bringing in a striker when the team has an identity and gel together makes a strikers job much more easy.
