Haaland fuels rumours while heaping praise on ‘friend’ Hauge: “He’s playing for a beautiful club”

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has heaped praise on his friend and Norway team-mates Jens Petter Hauge.

Haaland and Hauge are compatriots having risen through the ranks of the Norwegian youth sides together, and there has been speculation over the last few days that they could even be reunited at Milan.

Calciomercato.it reported recently that Haaland is Milan’s dream for the post-Ibrahimovic era, adding that the Dortmund star is a possibility when looking at centre-forwards to replace the Swede, who is 39 years of age.

SportMediaset (via Daniele Triolo on Twitter) believe that Milan are working with Raiola for the signing of Haaland next summer, with no €75million release clause and the possibility of Rafael Leao being included in the deal.

Haaland was the the winner of the Golden Boy 2020, and he spoke to Sky Italia during which he expressed admiration for Hauge but also for Milan.

“In my life I have had many idols, I try to learn as much as possible from the other strikers. Ibrahimovic is one of the best ever and I try to learn as much as possible from him, he is one of my idols,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Hauge is doing well and we are very good friends, he is a great talent. He plays for a beautiful club and at a very good club. He has to continue to work hard and play like that, he has a great career ahead of him. My dream is to win the Champions League.”
