It is already clear that Massimiliano Allegri is playing a very active role in the construction of the squad for next season, along with Igli Tare.
As MilanNews write, the Tare-Allegri duo are at work and they are not wasting time. They have already taken the reins at Milanello and have been almost ‘workaholic’ in their operation so far, to plan for 2025-26 and beyond.
Only last year Paulo Fonseca landed in Milan (without any sporting director to welcome him) just a few days before the start of the season, with a team that was evidently not shaped on his ideas. That is without mentioning a failed working group.
A needed summer change
Giorgio Furlani publicly admitted the need to return to a more traditional structure and the first results have already been seen, with Tare getting out of the coach guessing game early by immediately securing Allegri.
Allegri has been hard at work too. On Thursday he spent the whole day at Milanello together with his coaching staff and Tare to plan the next season together. The staff also welcomed Bernardo Corradi, former Italy U20 coach, who joins Landucci, Dolcetti, Trombetta, Filippi and Magnanelli.

Allegri will put his face on the line and will be an important reference figure for everyone at Milanello. He above all has a great desire for revenge: both for how the last year at Juventus went and for how his previous spell in the red and black ended.
Max is often at Casa Milan to work with the directors on transfers, with the aim being to create a balanced, talented squad with the right personalities. After the Club World Cup he will welcome Luka Modric, while one of the main objectives in midfield is Granit Xhaka of Leverkusen.
These are names that – while waiting for any official announcements – make it clear in which direction his new Milan is moving. Allegri, strongly supported by Tare, is working hard to make a big impact early on.
So it’s not until the third coach after Pioli that management give him a sporting director and a fighting chance to succeed… interesting 🤔
Better late then never
When they go wrong you complain,
When they do right, you complain.
I don’t believe Allegri will be successful. I hope he does, but I just don’t think he’ll be. His return to Juve last time around ended in a sack — I believe. That alone speaks volumes for me.
And has Juventus done anything of note since he left?
Nope.
Bundled out of UCL in the first round of knock-out games against a weaker opponent (just like Milan) and barely scraped into 4th on the last day.
Juventus problems were much bigger than Allegri’s return stint.
He still won the coppa and qualified them for UCL in his final season.
