GdS: “Time is on my side” – Ibrahimovic and Milan determined to continue together

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has no plans to retire from playing just yet and if anything he is set to continue into his 40s, according to a report.

The latest Instagram post from Ibrahimovic is captioned with a very clear message: “Time is on my side.” La Gazzetta dello Sport reports how the operation on his knee that the Swede underwent at the end May means he could actually be away from the field until early February.

Despite the long recovery process ahead and the fact his contract expires on June 30, his renewal seems likely. In the next three weeks he will meet directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to take stock of the situation, and he is moving towards an extension of another season with two hypotheses on the table.

The first an agreement at much lower figures than the €7m net he received in 2021-22, and the second a token contract based on a fee per appearance. We can hypothesise a recovery for the derby on February 4th, but it will be tough, yet what matters is the will to continue together and to make more memories.
