Zlatan Ibrahimovic was not happy that AC Milan were knocked out of the Champions League by Feyenoord and he made the team aware of it at full-time.
A Sky report speaks of a ‘heavy air at Milanello’ the day after the elimination from the Champions League. There was understandably ‘frustration and anger’ for having compromised a path that in Europe could have been a lot different.
First there was the defeat in Zagreb, which meant the failure to finish in the top eight and obtain direct access to the round of 16 without having to go through the play-offs. Then the defeat in Rotterdam and the draw at San Siro, resulting in the shock farewell from the Champions League.
Ibrahimovic (lately ever present like never before at Milanello) ‘thundered’, ‘venting’ his anger in the dressing room immediately after the morning training session. He made his ‘anger and disappointment’ for the performances and results known.
It is legitimate to expect more from a Milan built in the summer and improved – not without financial effort – in the last winter window. Now, the minimum objective is to finish in the top four in order to have a shot at European redemption next season, otherwise the fall-out could be even bigger.
He should vent at himself for:
– not recruiting a decent midfield
– pampering spoilt players like Theo and Leao.
– undermining Fonseca before the winter transfer market had even closed
*summer
Oops. I live in southern hemisphere.
It’s winter for me in the off season.
You do know Moncada is mostly behind recruitment, right?
Gimenez is an Ibrahimovic signing, Moncada admitted it had “nothing” to do with him. Felix is almost certainly a Conceicao signing.
“pampering spoilt players like Theo and Leao.”
He doesn’t pay their salaries and both Fonseca and Concecaio have been critical of the players, Ibrahimovic hasn’t stepped on their toes.
“undermining Fonseca before the winter transfer market had even closed”
No, he undermined Fonseca at the start of the season, then after the “I’m the boss” interview, he was criticised and stepped back.
He tells us that he is the boss and when the market is closed.
The loudest in the room is usually the weakest in the room.
Talking louds usually showed that him self uncapable handling big family of my Milan. You should leave soon. You don’t have Milan blood inside. Shut your mouth and leave. Let the coach and players work. Don’t have to listen your rubbish word
Shoutcecaio and Shoutbrimovic. Ears must be ringing after that training session.
Also @admin, the ads all over the screen are back again. Can you guys fix that?….as I type literally a large temu heart Valentine and popped up on my screen and I’m now only seeing 1/3 of the screen.
administration, owners, people at the top are to blame for champion league elimination and everything else that’s happening. the team needed reinforcement and they just sat there all confortable enjoying themselves and being cheap, not trying to spend any money; by the time reinforcements came in january, team had no time to develop chemistry, they are barely managing to beat small italian teams…milan and co. don’t seem to realize the teams that do well usually spend money and acquire good players, look at real madrid, barcelona, liverpool,
,,Shock farewell from the Champions League?”
Oh come on, it was written on the wall, just they didn’t payed attention.
The same goes for the fourth spot for the next year games in the Champ. League.
This season we are not competitive, we have to face it.
A few good games and the rest only a mess
Leao is not a team player. His individual skill/speed occasionally have bright moments, but overall his selfishness interrupts the team play more than anything. Now adding Felix, its more of the same. Occasional bright moments due to his individual skill, but as much a disruption at other times. Understandable that Conceicao is hoping he can somehow bring out the best in both of them, get them to finally turn individual potential into consistent team success but terrible/ridiculous/biased decision to leave them both on instead of Pulisic and Gimenez who have more goals/assists in less time played and have show they have more fight/heart on any given day.
